Starlight Voyages

A private tour of Egypt, from the first hello to the last goodbye.

A private tour of Egypt is a custom itinerary with your own air-conditioned vehicle, a native Egyptian guide at every site and your own schedule, with no group bus and no fixed pace.

8 to 10days, what most guests choose

Egypt rewards time and good company. The Pyramids of Giza are only the opening act. Saqqara, Luxor and Karnak, the Nile at dusk, Aswan and Abu Simbel are all better when nobody is rushing you.

Every private trip is designed around your dates, your interests and the people you travel with. We also lead small-group Egypt expeditions ourselves, so we know which sites are worth the early alarm, which hotels earn their stars, and when a long lunch beats another item on the list.

A native Egyptian guide at every stop

Our guides are Egyptians who know these sites by heart. You will not just walk past ancient treasures. You will learn what makes each temple and tomb unique, and leave with real understanding of one of history's most fascinating civilizations.

Custom itineraries built from scratch

Tell us what you want to do and we build your Egypt itinerary around it. Camel rides around the Pyramids. Entry to the Pyramid of Unas at Saqqara. A suite on a Nile cruise. Quiet mornings, long dinners, a few extra days on the beach in Sinai.

A team in Cairo, not a call center

We keep a support team on the ground in Cairo, so your point of contact is never a faraway voice. Want to change your plans while you are already there? We will make it work.

    Good to know

Questions about private tours of Egypt.

    Last reviewed October 2026
How many days do I need in Egypt?

Most guests choose 8 to 10 days. That is enough for Cairo and Giza, a Nile cruise, Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel without feeling rushed. Shorter trips of 3 to 7 days work well if you focus on one region.

When is the best time to visit Egypt?

October through April is the most comfortable season for sightseeing, with milder days and cooler evenings. Summer is very hot, especially in the south, so if you travel then we plan early starts and long midday breaks.

How much does a private tour of Egypt cost?

The price of a private Egypt tour depends on your dates, the number of travelers, hotel level, whether you add a Nile cruise or internal flights, and how many days you stay. Private trips cost more per person than group tours because you have your own guide and vehicle. We quote every trip individually.

Is a private tour better than a group tour in Egypt?

A private tour suits travelers who want their own pace, a flexible schedule and a guide focused on them. Group tours cost less and suit people who enjoy meeting others. We run both: small-group departures with Abdul, and fully private custom trips. Tell us your priorities and we will recommend one honestly.

Do I need a guide in Egypt?

Many visitors find a guide makes a big difference at sites like Saqqara, Karnak and the Valley of the Kings, where the history is hard to follow alone. On our private trips a native Egyptian guide is with you at every stop, so you understand what you are looking at and why it matters.

What happens when I land in Cairo?

A private driver meets you after you land and takes you to your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle. The same kind of private transport stays with you for transfers and sightseeing until you fly home, so you never negotiate with taxis or book rides. Your guide and our Cairo team are one message away.

    What does a quote include?

We spell out exactly what is and is not included before you commit. Quotes are built around your itinerary and usually cover hotels, private transportation, guides, entrance fees and any internal flights or Nile cruise you choose.

    Do you book international flights?

Not at the moment. Our live flight deals page tracks current fares from major US airports to Cairo, so you can see what to expect and book directly with the airline.

Can I add a beach stay to my trip?

Yes. Many guests add a few days on the Red Sea or in Sinai after the ancient sites. Tell us what you have in mind and we will build it in.

Do I need a visa for Egypt?

Most visitors do. Many nationalities can get an e-visa online or a visa on arrival, but the rules change, so confirm with Egypt's official visa portal and your own government before you book. We will walk you through the steps.

    Is Egypt safe for visitors?

Millions of people visit Egypt every year. On our trips you travel in private transport with local guides, and our team in Cairo is reachable throughout. As with any destination, check the US State Department travel advisory or your own government's advice before booking.
