Nearly all meals, and a team on the ground
Nearly all meals are included, from long Egyptian lunches to a traditional home cooked meal with Abdul's family from Gaza and a felucca dinner cruise. Most guests still grab a shawerma or a plate of koshary on the go now and then, and honestly, that is part of the fun. The meals we leave out tend to be the impromptu ones, a rooftop restaurant we decide on a whim, and drinks other than water are not part of the fare. Our team in Cairo is reachable throughout, so help is one message away.

Day 1 · Arrive in Cairo
Land at Cairo airport, where VIP customs assistance and a private transfer take you straight to your deluxe hotel. In the evening, meet the group over an authentic grill dinner, then a downtown tour with desserts and street cafe culture.
Day 2 · Giza and the pyramids
The Giza Plateau: the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx and the Valley Temple, with a camel or horseback ride near the pyramids. A papyrus museum and lunch, then dinner with Abdul's family at their home.
Day 3 · Memphis, Saqqara and the Grand Egyptian Museum
Memphis and the Mit Rahina Museum, then Saqqara with a visit inside the Pyramid of Unas. The Grand Egyptian Museum follows: the Grand Staircase, the Hanging Obelisk, the Tutankhamen treasures, the Solar Boat and the Colossal Ramses.
Day 4 · Old Cairo, the bazaars, then fly to Aswan
The Religious Complex, the Citadel and the Muhammad Ali Mosque, a koshary lunch, then Khan el-Khalili and Al-Muizz Street with a stop at El Fishawy. A sunset felucca ride on the Nile, then a domestic flight to Aswan.
Day 5 · Philae and the Nile cruise
Philae Temple, then check in to your 5-star Nile cruise. Visit a Nubian village and a crocodile house, then a dinner and party on board as the cruise sets sail.
Day 6 · Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo
An early start for Abu Simbel, the colossal rock temples carved into the cliffs, with a breakfast box for the road. Then Kom Ombo Temple and its Crocodile Museum, back on the cruise.
Day 7 · Edfu, the Esna lock, Karnak and Luxor
Edfu and the Temple of Horus, reached by tuktuk for sunrise. Pass through the Esna lock, then Karnak and Luxor Temple, with a last dinner on the cruise.
Day 8 · The West Bank, then fly to Cairo
An optional sunrise hot-air balloon over Luxor (not included, $100 per person). Then the West Bank: Hatshepsut's temple, the Valley of the Kings including the tomb of Tutankhamen, and the Colossi of Memnon. An alabaster workshop and lunch, then a domestic flight back to Cairo.
Day 9 · Depart
Check out of your deluxe hotel and head home, with a private transfer to the airport.

This small-group Egypt tour suits travelers who want the ease of a fully planned trip with the warmth of a small group. It works well for solo travelers, couples and friends. You travel with a small group of like-minded people, fully hosted and led by Abdul, with local Egyptologist guides at every major site.
How active is the tour?
The pace is moderate. You walk through temples, tombs and markets, and there are early starts for Abu Simbel and the optional balloon. Wear comfortable shoes and light layers. If you have mobility concerns, tell us before you book.
What is the weather like in February?
February in Egypt is mild and pleasant, with daytime highs up to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit and cooler evenings. Light layers work well, plus a light jacket for early mornings and evenings.
Do I need a visa for Egypt?
Most visitors do. Many nationalities can get an e-visa online or a visa on arrival, but the rules change, so confirm with Egypt's official visa portal and your own government before you book. We will walk you through the steps.
Are flights included?
International flights to and from Cairo are not included. Domestic flights within Egypt, from Cairo to Aswan and from Luxor back to Cairo, are included. See the flight prices panel on this page for current airfare to Cairo, and plan to arrive by February 1.
What is included in the price?
The price includes nine days and eight nights, deluxe hotels and a 5-star Nile cruise for three nights, nearly all meals, domestic flights, VIP customs assistance and private transfers, private transportation, local Egyptologist guides, entry tickets to the included sites, and Abdul's commentary and hieroglyph lessons.
What is not included?
International flights, drinks, souvenirs, anything not listed in the itinerary, and the optional hot-air balloon over Luxor are not included. The balloon is $100 per person and depends on weather on the morning of the flight.
Is the hot-air balloon worth it?
The sunrise hot-air balloon over Luxor is an optional highlight, offering a view of the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings from above. It is optional and not included in the price. It costs $100 per person and depends on weather on the morning of the flight.
What are the cancellation terms?
