A Starlight Voyages expedition is a small-group, 7 to 10 day journey into a single culture, guided personally by Abdul and Anna alongside expert local guides, with the hotels, transfers and most meals handled end to end.
We build the trip so you can be present. Mornings start at the sites before the crowds, afternoons leave room to wander, and the evenings are for the food, the markets and the sky. Photography coaching comes along on most departures, whether you shoot with a mirrorless camera or just a phone.
Small groups keep every stop personal. That is the whole point.

What an expedition actually feels like.
The most unique trip I've ever been on in my life. Egypt is like no other place I've visited. What a beautiful country with a mix of ancient beauty and modern chaos. They put together a great group of people and made it super easy to enjoy all the sights without any stressing.
Whether you're a lone adventurer, don't travel much at all, love seeing the night sky and milky way or have desire to escape a city to see it for the first time; Abdul and Anna have got you covered! I've been on almost all of these tours so far and loved every bit of it. Always really cool people that come along and we always have a great time hiking beautiful places, and photographing the night sky. I usually travel alone doing stuff like this but going on these tours you don't really need to plan or think about all the logistics besides getting yourself to the rendezvous for the most part. Also, being in the middle of nowhere in the dark by yourself is scary but on these adventures we're with a whole group and have so much more fun talking under the night sky. For as long as I have money to spend I will go on as many tours as I can and has been worth every dollar. I highly recommend coming along on any or all of these adventures that you're able because Abdul and Anna are some of the coolest people I know and they have become experts of providing unique memorable stargazing and travel adventures.

I took a trip with Starlight Voyages and I felt very welcomed as a hijabi taking her first solo trip! I was able to stay in my own room and space in a large cabin. The cabin location made me feel comfortable and safe. The trips within the expedition were well organized, fun and informative. Anna and Abdul really gave me confidence to travel in a safe environment. They’re both very professional but also super involved in making you feel warm and heard and push you to explore and make memories. If you’re interested in getting out of your bubble, and traveling with experienced persons rather than being alone, I’d recommend it to no one more than these two in this life, and the next.
Abdul truly brings you into another world. You'll end up in places no brochure could find, eating bread made by a family that's been at it for two hundred years, and somewhere along the way you forget you're on a tour. That's the thing he's really good at. I came home with a completely different appreciation and admiration of that corner of the world, so if you're thinking about booking, just do it.
Visiting Egypt had been on my bucket list forever, but as a solo female traveler I felt intimidated to book a trip alone. I jumped at the chance to visit with Abdul and Anna, because I knew with their travel experience, local knowledge, and passion for Egyptian history I was in the best possible hands. What I didn't expect was how lovely the group of people attending were. I've created friendships with such considerate caring people on this trip that I hope to stay in touch with forever. The logistics to all the sights was handled, but the dynamics of the group that Starlight Voyages created was just above and beyond. Last minute things like navigating Egyptian pharmacies for headache tablets, extra water bottles and sunscreen was never an issue and we all looked out for one another while making incredible memories. Another major plus was getting professional photos at all the landmarks taken by Abdul. I'd feel confident recommending anyone to go ahead and book your dream trip with Starlight Voyages.

What is a Starlight Voyages expedition?
A Starlight Voyages expedition is a small-group, 7 to 10 day journey into one country, guided by Abdul and Anna with expert local guides. The itinerary, hotels, transfers and most meals are arranged for you, so you can focus on the place itself.
How big are the groups?
Groups are kept intentionally small so every stop stays personal and unhurried. You travel as a tight group with Abdul and Anna, not on a coach tour, which is why departures fill quickly and many trips sell out.
Are flights included?
International airfare is not included and is booked separately. We track current fares to each destination and publish them on our flights page, so you can see what a ticket costs from major US airports before you reserve.
Who leads the trips?
Abdul and Anna host every departure, working alongside vetted local guides and on-the-ground teams in each country. In Egypt that means Egyptian guides and drivers who know the sites, the timing and the best light.
How much do expeditions cost?
Expeditions start at $3,500 per person for 2027, with the total depending on the destination, the number of nights and whether you share a room or travel privately. Full pricing and room options are on each trip page.
Do I need to be a photographer?
No. Photography coaching is part of most departures, but it is pitched at every level, from phone shooters to experienced photographers. Bring the camera you already have, or just bring your eyes.
Is there an age minimum?
Yes. Group expeditions are for adults 18 and over. If you want to travel with children or a younger family group, we arrange it as a private tour built around your party, where kids are welcome.
